My name is Julia Raye Hines. Most people just call me Raye and I’m your average girl with too many things I love to do. I am married to my sweet husband Jordan and we currently live in New Braunfels, Texas with our two fur babies – Jules and Bax. I graduated with a degree in marketing from The University of Texas at Austin (hook’em forever) in 2017. I work from home as a full time Marketing Coordinator while fitting in bits & pieces of things I love.
Raye of Sunshine was created to bring a little sunshine and happiness to your day. Whether that be updates on life moments or a simple book suggestion, I have found that my favorite way to share my favorite things with others is by writing about them!
You’ll find me over at The Homebody Company sharing crafty DIYs and my original quilt patterns. As that space has grown, I have wanted to make sure I kept the content share to a certain category, thus my second blog was born!
I can’t wait to share updates with you here and watch this blog transform into a fun space with something for everyone!
Q + A
Q: Where are you from?
A: I was raised in a small South Texas town from kindergarten till 12th grade. I moved to Austin to attend college at The University of Texas and have lived in New Braunfels with my husband since graduating in 2017.
Q: Why did you start a blog?
A: I have loved having the space on my blog over at The Homebody Company to share all of my crafty ideas and I have just had a want to share more recently! I wanted to be careful about what I started mixing into that space as I know what I share there is pretty focused. Read more about my decision to start a second blog here.
Q: What are your hobbies?
A: If you’ve been over to The Homebody Company, I am sure you can tell that my main hobby is sewing. As I push that to be more of a business, I have found I need other outlets though and that often includes being completely entranced by a good book or tagging along on a hunting or fishing trip with my husband!
Any other questions for me? Let me know! I love chatting with you guys!! If I find myself getting certain ones often, I will always come back here and add to this Q + A.
