What a sweet and special day this was!! And I almost didn’t do it, but I will forever be grateful my photographer turned friend encouraged me to. Now excuse me while I overshare my photos and give you a little insight to this magical day!
First off, did you know that an entire day for bridal portraits isn’t common everywhere? The more I talked about it I found out that it is more of just a Texas or “south” thing. Which I had no idea cause I just remember seeing them from people growing up. But after taking them, I now understand why the photos are so special and the day can actually turn into a stress reliever!
Now how is this day a stress reliever you ask? Well I hadn’t thought of it this way prior, but then I realized I was seeing how I would look on my wedding day one whole month before the big day! And let me tell you, as much as you imagine your big day and how you will look, there is nothing like seeing it all put together. Heck, I actually HATED the first wedding dress pick that I had swooned over for months. So seeing myself this day, in my dream dress, with my hair and makeup done was soo relieving. It was at this point in the planning process that I truly felt a sense of relief. Everything was coming together as I had always imagined. Plus, who wouldn’t love an extra day to get all dolled up and wear their wedding dress? I’d be wearing mine everyday if I could.
I knew I didn’t want too many accessories, but from the moment I saw the style of Olive & Piper earrings, I set out to find my pair. I ended up choosing the Valentina Earrings and the Hudson Hair Pins.
Tips I received:
- Get the same gloss/lipstick your makeup people will use on you so you can do touchups
- Bring cuticle oil and/or lotion and apply right before
- Wear leggings under your dress if it’s cold & possible (it was 40 degrees the day we took these!!)
- Have all of your jewelry and accessories that you plan to wear for your big day
My final piece of advice for this day? JUST HAVE FUN! You are a gorgeous bride who is getting the chance to see how you’ll look before walking down the aisle to your soon-to-be hubby and this should be anything but stressful. Get all glammed up and have fun with your photographer!
