If you have already had your wedding, do you ever just miss your wedding day? Cause same. The 15ish months of planning was honestly so fun for me (with just a few minor freak outs). The day was a dream and went by in a FLASH just like everyone said it would. I tried so hard to soak in every minute, but I’d go back and live the day over and over again if I could.
We worked with some amazing vendors throughout the process and I wanted to take the time to rave about each of them because we had such an awesome experience! I’ll go into more details of certain aspects of our day in other posts but for now here is who we were lucky enough to work with.
The Chandelier of Gruene
A GORGEOUS venue all on its own. The cutest white chapel. And some of the most helpful people we met along the wedding planning process! From the moment we walked onto the property, I looked at Jordan and knew this was the one. They also have a house on site that can be rented out & it was perfect for Jordan’s family to stay at and for us to keep stuff at!
Ashley Medrano Photography
Now, let’s talk about vendors going above & beyond. You hire them for the services they provide, but sometimes you get lucky enough to have a few that do even more than that. Check on you, chat through things with you a million times and give you recommendations for everything you aren’t quite sure what to do with yet. I cannot recommend Ashley enough and if she is free you MUST book her for your wedding. She captures the most beautiful photos, but also in the moment gems like this.
Reiley + Rose
If you want your wildest dreams to come true, Megan and her ladies are what you need. I went to Megan with ideas I was sure were too much and she only showed excitement from the very beginning. We were giddy over the NAPKIN color together. If you’re florist isn’t supporting napkin color dreams, then you probably need Megan instead. The whole day come together just as I had pictured and I was almost in tears when Megan brought me out to see the final result. Also, can we just take a moments for this bouquet? So much color and texture that I wish I could have one in my house every day.
Sweet Laurel Events
Laura of Sweet Laurel Events is just that – SO sweet and so dang helpful. From the moment we hired her, I felt peace with the fact that our wedding day would go smoothly. We only went with her day of coordinating package but she was always quick to respond to my (many) emails full of questions and the day of truly made me feel as if everything was handled. Just what a bride needs to be able to soak up all of the fun on her big day! She has also worked at our venue many times so she knew all of their requirements and was familiar with what could and could not happen. Definitely recommend someone familiar with where your wedding is happening!
We have yet to get our wedding video back as Dynamic Films is working their magic, however I can already talk to how amazing they are! The were so attentive leading up to our big day about what we wanted captured and you hardly knew they were there capturing all of the special moments. Can’t wait to relive this day & share the video when we get it!
Big tip here – if you are wanting a videographer, check with your photographer before you book someone or just ask them who they recommend. It will make the biggest difference that they work well together!
My main goal with the bridesmaids dresses was that they would all be comfortable in them. After ordering from Azazie for my Matron of Honors wedding, I knew I’d have my girls do the same. You pick the color (I went with rust) and then they can choose the style they are comfortable with! It allows everyone to get the fit they like and at a price point they like as well. They also have SO many color options so there is sure to be something that matches your color scheme!
HAIR & MAKEUP
My #1 priority for hair and makeup was that their style was “natural”. Which could very well mean something different for everyone, but I just wanted to look like myself and be comfortable in my own skin for this day. Elevé was my answer and were so sweet and accommodating in the process. I went in for a test round for my makeup before booking because I had never had my makeup professionally done and then they made my bridal portraits such a fun day! I was paired with Lacey for the main stylist and they sent two others to help us get through everyone in a timely fashion instead of spending the whole day getting ready. Highly highly recommend checking them out if you are in the Austin area!
I had one request from Jordan that I knew I had absolutely no say over for the wedding – the boys are wearing jeans. And honestly, I couldn’t have pictured it any other way! I knew they would be more comfortable and now I definitely can’t imagine these 5 in full suits, haha. We went with the tan jacket, vest and white shirt from Men’s Warehouse (there’s literally only one option) and then they all just wore dark jeans. I also wanted the groomsmen ties to match the bridesmaid dresses and lucky for me Azazie has this option! Jordan was not a big fan of the rust orange ties though so we found him a pretty paisley one from The Tie Bar.
By His Grace
Do most wedding invitations get thrown away? Probably yes. But did I have a specific idea for ours even if people wouldn’t be keeping them? Also yes. Grace from By His Grace made my dreams come to life. I have been following her for quite some time and knew that I wanted one of the maps she creates included in our invitation suite. All of the colors and details came together so perfect and she was so sweet and easy to work with.
Sugar & Champagne
Cake – something that was VERY important to me. I’m a chocolate girl so we didn’t have a traditional white wedding cake, but it was SO good and so worth it! I went with a semi-naked cake, cascading flowers and topper that included the pups. Jordan’s cake was a red velvet cake that had a speckled trout and was very fitting for him. Both turned out so cute and yummy! Already can’t wait for when we get to dig into our top tier on our one year anniversary.
Also, this cake stand is a basket turned upside down and the glass top from a nightstand in my house. Everyone probably thought I was crazy when I walked in with it, but it worked out so well!!
Jimmy Lyn’s Catering
Food for your wedding is a hard thing to choose especially when feeding a bunch people. We waited till an open house at our venue so we could taste a few at the same time and easily chose Jimmy Lyn’s as our favorite! Leading up to the wedding they were so responsive with questions we had to make sure certain things were covered and they put together the most AMAZING charcuterie boards I have ever seen for our head table. I still think about those boards everyday and we have people telling us how much they liked the food all the time!
I had one request for the bar and that was to have frozen margaritas. So we went with Margarita Madness and could not have been happier! They were so helpful through the process of making decisions to have an open bar for 250+ people and we could not recommend them more!
Accents and Events
The ladies of Accents and Events are the sweetest! I came to them a little last minute (about 3 weeks before the wedding) because I hadn’t found a few more pieces I was looking for. They pulled out a bunch of recommendations for head table seating after chatting with our florist and we went with these rust orange Blazie chairs! They were the perfect addition and honestly so comfy to move to the other side and sit in while the dance floor was going. They have SO many pieces as well as sparklers for your grand exit which was great cause I wasn’t sure where to get those either! Highly recommend checking out their inventory to add something unique to your big day.
Jordan and I both happened to see the same photo of marquee letters that inspired ours one day and we knew we had to have some at our wedding. ALPHA-LIT was so easy to work with and by far the most affordable we found! Delivery was included and so simple to get set up.
Winston was SO fun! And kept our guests going the whole night. We knew we wanted plenty of country music played but also a mix of everything else. He took our country song recommendations and did such a great job at mixing in other types of music for everyone to enjoy the night.
Comal Event Rental
Something I did not think about much was linens, but holy moly we needed a lot. We went with ivory table cloths on the round tables, sheer runners on the farmhouse tables and teal napkins that matched the tapered candles on some of the table settings. Comal Event Rental was so easy to work with and had everything ready for us to go at pickup!
Ramble & Roam Photo Booth
I knew I wanted to find something different for our guest book and this was so fun because our guest also got to take something home! It was a hit all night and looking back at our guest book is so sweet to see all of the fun they had in the photo booth.
I will never be able to say enough good things about each of these vendors. If you are looking for anything for your upcoming wedding I HIGHLY recommend them each!
